Default What do you collect?

Most people have some sort of collection....whether it's baseball cards or precious moments figures, or seashells! And usually once people find out about your collection....that's it....you will get something to add to your collection from there on out for every occasion!

Do you collect anything?
Do your kids collect anything?

I collect cookbooks from all over the world, and all over the USA. I love regional cooking. My daughter, Bela, has been collecting snow globes since she was about 2 years old. She mostly collects the mini ones, she likes to buy them with her own money. She has about 50 or them! She remembers exactly where she got them, or who gave them to her!

We as a family also collect Children's Christmas Books. We have about 40 or 50 of them, that we place in a special basket under our Tree each year, and we read them during the Season. I find after Christmas mark downs and buy one or two ones each year. I write the year in the book, and one day will pass them on to Bela.

Hmm.. Collections... Well ever since I was 4 years old my mom made me a "Dog Tree" for Christmas. Every year I got a new ornament. ( I had a huge thing for dogs ). Now being almost 24.. I have a 6 ft tree that is completely filled with dog ornaments. lol.

As far as my daughter. Her room is done with Turtles.. so I'd say that she has been collecting turtles.

yeah...I am a collector of manatee stuff, when in doubt get me a manatee something...always a safe bet...works out well for my hubby! I love manatees. I also collect beach glass and have since I was about 5 or 6. I don't collect any old beach glass, it is real beach glass that I have actually found myself, most on the shores of Stuart. I do have some from a few other places but I am quite picky about what is a "keeper"! I have quite alot! I have a 3 year old that collects trains.

Default Birdhouses

I started collecting Birdhouses about 10 years ago- I just love them-Most of them are hand painted from the kids as well as hand painted from a very talented friend of mine. Some are from Thrift stores or wherever else I happen to see one. I even have one in our "school room" of a Little Red School/Bird House". Actually almost every room in my home has at least one Birdhouse in it.

As far as the kids-I do not think they really collect anything, it is more of something that they are into and then it gets excessive-more of a fad I think.

PS I love the Manatee Collection-Very Cool!
